Udon Noodles In Soup at Shin

We have for our official first random meal in Tokyo, Japan an order of Udon Noodles In Soup. After the long flight, we still wanted an adventure so off we went and we got lost. What we did not anticipate is that there was a lag in my gps due to the tall buildings around me in Shinjuku. So we would walk a block and did not make a turn and a minute later, we are somewhere random. Good thing I did look up the restaurant and knew it was in a little alley beforehand. So about 30 minutes later, we hit a long line. There seems to be a queue everywhere in Tokyo. It was already past 9PM and we had to wait about 45 minutes to eat. My master plan of not hitting Shin's massive line by coming late at night did not seem to work out. We basically ordered by pointing at pictures on the menu. All this for freshly hand made udon. Fresh is defined as minutes old Udon. The only disappointment was the the photo was not like in the picture on the menu. I seems like they only curl the fresh udon noodles in a bundle when you order without soup. It was still delicious and hit the spot. One random meal down and many more to come!

Totoro Cream Puff at Shiro-Hige's Cream Puff Factory

Hello Tokyo! I could not have been more excited to have this random meal of the day treat. It has been many years of dreaming about traveling to Tokyo, Japan and I have finally made it! This trip was back in early October of this year. While this was not my first random meal in Tokyo, Japan, it was actually my most anticipated random meal.

We have for our random meal of the day treat an order of a Totoro Cream Puff. This version with the green leaf is the original flavor and translates into Custard and Fresh Cream. It was really just too cute to eat...
