Spam Musubi at L & L Hawaiian Barbecue

Our random meal of the day brings us a Spam Musubi. This just hits the spot.
Yes, my new year's resolution will be no new cameras for 2012! Yikes!

Found at L & L Hawaiian Barbecue in Pasadena, CA.

Panasonic GF3, 25mm, f1.4, 1/125, iso 160, LED Video Lights

  1. Which camera manufacturer is the best in your opinion? I know this is an extremely open ended questions but if you had to recommend one to a friend what would that be? Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Fuji, Olympus, etc? Thanks!

  2. The camera recommendation really depends on the price point. I'm a big fan of the Nikon products at the high end while the Panasonics are nice at the lower and mid range.

But in the end, the best camera is the one you have with you ;)

  3. Thank you for the feedback. I am trying to convert from Point and Shoot to DSLR and just bought a Canon EOS Rebel XS 10.1MP SLR Digital Camera with 18-55mm IS Lens. Do you think I will enjoy using this camera and have you had experience with Canon? Any good or bad thoughts are very appreciated! lol. Sorry for bothering you with this. I just admire your photos and can tell that you really take a lot of factors into consideration when shooting. Light, setting, background and obviously the hardware you choose. Thank you again!!

  4. Mike, The Canon Rebel XS should be a great camera and you will enjoy using it. It may be a bit of a learning curve at first but my advice would be to shoot, shoot and shoot more. My first DSLR was actually the orginal Canon Rebel. I'll tell you what, I'll shoot some food with my latest Canon DSLR and post them in the next few weeks.

One thing I recommend, is that you buy this book, Understanding Exposure, 3rd Edition: How to Shoot Great Photographs with Any Camera by Bryan Peterson.

  5. Thank you for that! I feel better about it already. I started feeling a little buyers remorse. lol. But I am glad that I decided to take the leap towards DSLR. I am definitely going to get a copy of that book. Thank you for the tip. I'm excited to start this new hobby! Your blog has been an inspiration for me. I enjoy taking pictures of delicious food as well but never had the right tool to really bring it to life. Thanks again bud!
